Options for cold store and freezer doors in Bletchley
- Inside release. Every door can be opened from inside without a key, even if locked from outside.
- Pressure relief. We check pressure relief so a tightly sealed room does not suck the door shut.
- Impact protection. Protection around the opening helps stop forklifts damaging expensive insulated leaves.
- Electric sliding. Powered sliding doors that open on demand and close automatically, with full safety devices.
- Tight seals. Compressible gaskets pressed against the frame as the door closes.
Typical scopes of work
- Fitting freezer-grade PVC strip curtains behind cold store doors that stand open during loading.
- Motorising a heavy manual cold store door with pull-cord activation, a safety edge on the closing leaf and photocells.
- Renewing worn gaskets and the frame heater on a chiller door that no longer seals properly.
Safety law for industrial doors in England
Industrial doors in Bletchley are covered by the same rules as the rest of Great Britain. On handover you should receive user instructions and, for a powered door, the conformity paperwork, because the installer is treated as the manufacturer when they assemble or motorise it. Afterwards, keeping the door in efficient working order is the occupier's job under the Workplace Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998, which in practice means regular servicing and a written log.
How the work is organised
Downtime matters on a working site, so the programme is set around your shifts. For a single door the opening is usually needed for a day; multi-door jobs are done one bay at a time so deliveries keep moving.

Frequently asked questions
Can our cold store door in Bletchley be made electric?
Often, yes, if the leaf and track are sound, or with a new electric sliding door. Powered cold store doors need safety edges and photocells and a drive suited to the temperature.
What safety release do cold store doors in Bletchley need?
Every cold store door should open from inside without a key or tool, even when locked from outside. We fit a clearly marked inside release and can add an alarm button connected to a monitored panel.
Do you repair cold store doors in Bletchley?
Yes. We replace gaskets, frame heaters, rollers, tracks, releases and drives on most makes. Repair visits are chargeable, and we quote before larger repairs or recommend replacement when the leaf itself has failed.
