Jobs we can carry out
- Installing a high-speed freezer door in front of an existing sliding cold store door on a busy picking route.
- Motorising a heavy manual cold store door with pull-cord activation, a safety edge on the closing leaf and photocells.
- Protecting new cold store door frames with steel buffers and bollards on a busy forklift route.
Powered door rules that apply in Aldershot
Aldershot is in England, where powered industrial doors fall under Great Britain's health and safety law. Whoever makes a door powered — including converting a manual door — usually takes on the manufacturer's duties under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008: risk assessment, technical file, conformity marking and a Declaration of Conformity. Once it is in use, the employer or occupier must keep it safe under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998.
How the work is organised
Where a door is being replaced, the opening has to be made secure at the end of each day. We plan strip-out, any new framing and the new door so the gap is never left open overnight unless you have agreed temporary measures.

Your questions about cold store and freezer doors
Can our cold store door in Aldershot be made electric?
Often, yes, if the leaf and track are sound, or with a new electric sliding door. Powered cold store doors need safety edges and photocells and a drive suited to the temperature.
What safety release do cold store doors in Aldershot need?
Every cold store door should open from inside without a key or tool, even when locked from outside. We fit a clearly marked inside release and can add an alarm button connected to a monitored panel.
Why is our cold room door in Aldershot hard to open after it closes?
Usually negative pressure: air inside cools and contracts once the door seals. A correctly sized pressure relief valve, heated on freezers, solves this. We check for one on survey and can fit it with a new door.
