What we fit in Thornton-Cleveleys

Pressure relief. Relief valves to balance pressure after the door closes or during defrost.
Heated frames. Heater cables in freezer door frames stop ice welding the seals shut.
Thick insulation. Insulation thickness is chosen for your operating temperature, with heavier leaves for freezers.
Inside release. Every door can be opened from inside without a key, even if locked from outside.
Electric sliding. Motorised sliding doors with pull cords, radar or loops and safety edges.

Jobs we can carry out

Adding a heated pressure relief valve to a freezer room where suction makes the door hard to open once it closes.
Installing a high-speed freezer door in front of an existing sliding cold store door on a busy picking route.
Motorising a heavy manual cold store door with pull-cord activation, a safety edge on the closing leaf and photocells.

Powered door rules that apply in Thornton-Cleveleys

Thornton-Cleveleys is in England, where powered industrial doors fall under Great Britain's health and safety law. Whoever makes a door powered — including converting a manual door — usually takes on the manufacturer's duties under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008: risk assessment, technical file, conformity marking and a Declaration of Conformity. Once it is in use, the employer or occupier must keep it safe under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998.

Questions from businesses in Thornton-Cleveleys

Can you replace a freezer door at our Thornton-Cleveleys site without losing stock?

We plan the change with you and your refrigeration engineer. Many doors can be swapped in a day, sometimes with stock moved or the plant set back temporarily, so the room returns to temperature quickly.

Do you repair cold store doors in Thornton-Cleveleys?

Yes. We replace gaskets, frame heaters, rollers, tracks, releases and drives on most makes. Repair visits are chargeable, and we quote before larger repairs or recommend replacement when the leaf itself has failed.

Why is our cold room door in Thornton-Cleveleys hard to open after it closes?

Usually negative pressure: air inside cools and contracts once the door seals. A correctly sized pressure relief valve, heated on freezers, solves this. We check for one on survey and can fit it with a new door.
