Options that matter on site
- Inside release. An emergency release on the inside face so nobody can be shut in.
- Electric sliding. Motorised sliding doors with pull cords, radar or loops and safety edges.
- Pressure relief. We check pressure relief so a tightly sealed room does not suck the door shut.
- Hygienic finishes. Plastisol-coated steel, stainless steel or GRP for food and pharmaceutical use.
- Heated frames. Heater cables in freezer door frames stop ice welding the seals shut.
What this work can involve
- Fitting a hinged chiller door with a stainless steel finish to a walk-in cold room in a commercial kitchen.
- Replacing an iced-up sliding freezer door with a new insulated door, heated frame and heated threshold.
- Renewing worn gaskets and the frame heater on a chiller door that no longer seals properly.
Safety law for industrial doors in Wales
Industrial doors in Pontypridd are covered by the same rules as the rest of Great Britain. On handover you should receive user instructions and, for a powered door, the conformity paperwork, because the installer is treated as the manufacturer when they assemble or motorise it. Afterwards, keeping the door in efficient working order is the occupier's job under the Workplace Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998, which in practice means regular servicing and a written log.
How the work is organised
Electrical work is the part that most often delays a job. If a new or converted door needs a supply, we confirm the motor's requirement at quote stage so your electrician can provide an isolator in the right place before installation day.

Cold store and freezer doors in Pontypridd: your questions
What safety release do cold store doors in Pontypridd need?
Every cold store door should open from inside without a key or tool, even when locked from outside. We fit a clearly marked inside release and can add an alarm button connected to a monitored panel.
Can you replace a freezer door at our Pontypridd site without losing stock?
We plan the change with you and your refrigeration engineer. Many doors can be swapped in a day, sometimes with stock moved or the plant set back temporarily, so the room returns to temperature quickly.
Do you supply cold store doors for food businesses in Mid Glamorgan?
Yes. We supply and fit cold store doors with hygienic finishes for food producers, processors, distributors and commercial kitchens across Mid Glamorgan, and we talk through your hygiene, cleaning and audit requirements at the survey before recommending a finish.
