What we fit in West Glamorgan
- Hygienic finishes. Plastisol-coated steel, stainless steel or GRP for food and pharmaceutical use.
- Electric sliding. Motorised sliding doors with pull cords, radar or loops and safety edges.
- Pressure relief. Relief valves to balance pressure after the door closes or during defrost.
- Thick insulation. Foam-filled leaves sized to the room temperature, from chillers to freezers.
- Inside release. An emergency release on the inside face so nobody can be shut in.
What this work can involve
- Replacing an iced-up sliding freezer door with a new insulated door, heated frame and heated threshold.
- Installing a high-speed freezer door in front of an existing sliding cold store door on a busy picking route.
- Adding a heated pressure relief valve to a freezer room where suction makes the door hard to open once it closes.
Who is responsible for door safety at a site in West Glamorgan?
In Wales, two sets of duties meet at a powered door. The installer who supplies or motorises it must hand over a door that meets the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008, tested against BS EN 12453 and documented. The business in control of the premises must then maintain it: regulation 5 of the Workplace Regulations 1992 covers maintenance, and regulation 18 requires upward-opening doors to have a device that stops them falling back and powered doors to have features that prevent trapping.
Keeping your site running during the work
Sites in and around West Glamorgan vary from tight trade counters to large distribution yards. The survey records access for our vehicle and platform, overhead obstructions and floor condition so the installation day runs without surprises.

Do you supply cold store doors for food businesses in Wales?
Yes. We supply and fit cold store doors with hygienic finishes for food producers, processors, distributors and commercial kitchens across Wales, and we talk through your hygiene, cleaning and audit requirements at the survey before recommending a finish.
