What we fit in Gorseinon
- Inside release. An emergency release on the inside face so nobody can be shut in.
- Pressure relief. Relief valves to balance pressure after the door closes or during defrost.
- Tight seals. Compressible gaskets pressed against the frame as the door closes.
- Electric sliding. Motorised sliding doors with pull cords, radar or loops and safety edges.
- Heated frames. Heater cables in freezer door frames stop ice welding the seals shut.
Typical scopes of work
- Motorising a heavy manual cold store door with pull-cord activation, a safety edge on the closing leaf and photocells.
- Installing a high-speed freezer door in front of an existing sliding cold store door on a busy picking route.
- Protecting new cold store door frames with steel buffers and bollards on a busy forklift route.
Safety law for industrial doors in Wales
Industrial doors in Gorseinon are covered by the same rules as the rest of Great Britain. On handover you should receive user instructions and, for a powered door, the conformity paperwork, because the installer is treated as the manufacturer when they assemble or motorise it. Afterwards, keeping the door in efficient working order is the occupier's job under the Workplace Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998, which in practice means regular servicing and a written log.
How the work is organised
If your premises are leased, check whether the landlord needs to approve the work. We can provide drawings and product data for the landlord or managing agent before the order is placed.

Cold store and freezer doors in Gorseinon: your questions
What safety release do cold store doors in Gorseinon need?
Every cold store door should open from inside without a key or tool, even when locked from outside. We fit a clearly marked inside release and can add an alarm button connected to a monitored panel.
Can our cold store door in Gorseinon be made electric?
Often, yes, if the leaf and track are sound, or with a new electric sliding door. Powered cold store doors need safety edges and photocells and a drive suited to the temperature.
Why is our cold room door in Gorseinon hard to open after it closes?
Usually negative pressure: air inside cools and contracts once the door seals. A correctly sized pressure relief valve, heated on freezers, solves this. We check for one on survey and can fit it with a new door.
