Options for cold store and freezer doors in Port Talbot

Hygienic finishes. Plastisol-coated steel, stainless steel or GRP for food and pharmaceutical use.
Inside release. Every door can be opened from inside without a key, even if locked from outside.
Thick insulation. Foam-filled leaves sized to the room temperature, from chillers to freezers.
Pressure relief. We check pressure relief so a tightly sealed room does not suck the door shut.
Electric sliding. Motorised sliding doors with pull cords, radar or loops and safety edges.

Typical scopes of work

Adding a heated pressure relief valve to a freezer room where suction makes the door hard to open once it closes.
Installing a high-speed freezer door in front of an existing sliding cold store door on a busy picking route.
Protecting new cold store door frames with steel buffers and bollards on a busy forklift route.

Powered door rules that apply in Port Talbot

Port Talbot is in Wales, where powered industrial doors fall under Great Britain's health and safety law. Whoever makes a door powered — including converting a manual door — usually takes on the manufacturer's duties under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008: risk assessment, technical file, conformity marking and a Declaration of Conformity. Once it is in use, the employer or occupier must keep it safe under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998.

How the work is organised

Electrical work is the part that most often delays a job. If a new or converted door needs a supply, we confirm the motor's requirement at quote stage so your electrician can provide an isolator in the right place before installation day.
