Dock levellers in Ashford (Surrey)

In short

New-build loading docks in Ashford (Surrey) need levellers planned early. We provide pit details for the groundworks contractor, then fit and commission the levellers and interlock them with the dock doors once those are in.

Options that matter on site

Velocity fuse. If pressure is lost suddenly, the platform locks instead of dropping.
Door interlocks. Leveller works only with the door open; the door cannot close on it.
Swing-lip levellers. Robust hinged-lip levellers for standard trailer traffic.
Pit work. We sort the pit too, from re-edging an old one to detailing a new one.
Sized to your fleet. We size the platform for your bed-height range and heaviest laden truck.

Jobs we can carry out

Fitting an edge-of-dock leveller to a lightly used bay where a full leveller pit is not needed.
Replacing worn swing-lip dock levellers in their existing pits, with pit edge repairs and new dock bumpers.
Supplying box-frame levellers to a groundworks contractor for casting into a new-build dock edge.

What the law expects at a loading bay

Across Great Britain, including Ashford (Surrey), loading bays bring together several duties: maintained work equipment under PUWER 1998, safe traffic routes under the Workplace Regulations 1992, and safe powered doors under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008. Dock levellers should meet BS EN 1398, and the site's risk assessment should cover vehicle creep and drive-aways.

Keeping your site running during the work

For busy sites in Surrey the work can be split across visits — preparation and framing first, door installation and commissioning second — so the opening is only out of action for the shortest time.
