Options for dock shelters and seals in Carrickfergus
- Sized to your fleet. Curtain sizes matched to vehicle widths, heights and dock height.
- Replacement curtains. Worn or torn curtains renewed on the existing frame.
- Foam seals. Foam pads that the trailer squeezes into, ideal where every vehicle is much the same.
- Weather protection. Goods and staff stay out of the weather while the trailer is being worked.
- Inflatable seals. Air bags inflate around the parked trailer for a tight seal.
What this work can involve
- Installing inflatable dock shelters at a chilled goods-in to help hold temperature while trailers are unloaded.
- Fitting foam dock seals at a bay used only by a dedicated fleet of identical trailers.
- Replacing torn side and top curtains on existing retractable shelter frames instead of buying new shelters.
Who is responsible for loading bay equipment at a site in Carrickfergus?
The employer or occupier, under PUWER (Northern Ireland) 1999 and the Workplace Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1993. Planned servicing, daily checks and a procedure to stop trailers moving during loading are the practical basics HSENI will expect.
Access, phasing and timing
Before work starts we send a method statement and risk assessment, confirm who on site will be our contact and agree where materials and access equipment will go. On shared industrial estates that can mean booking yard space with the landlord.

Dock shelters and seals in Carrickfergus: your questions
How much does a dock shelter cost in Carrickfergus?
Our guide prices are £2,195 to £5,495 ex VAT for a retractable dock shelter and £6,495 to £11,995 for an inflatable one, supplied and fitted. Once we have surveyed your bays in Carrickfergus, at no charge, the fixed price follows in writing.
Do you fit dock shelters for cold stores around County Antrim?
Yes. We fit inflatable and retractable shelters at cold stores and chilled sites across County Antrim, often alongside insulated doors and levellers, to help hold temperature and limit condensation at the dock while trailers are worked.
Can a dock shelter in Carrickfergus be fitted with our existing leveller?
Usually, yes. The shelter fits around the dock door and works with most existing levellers, provided the bumpers stop the trailer at the right distance from the wall. We check the bumpers and leveller lip on survey.
