The short version
Dock shelters and seals for loading bays at warehouses, food sites and distribution centres in the Highlands and Islands. We size each shelter to your dock and fleet, then fit it to close the gap around the trailer.

What to specify
- Foam seals. Foam pads that the trailer squeezes into, ideal where every vehicle is much the same.
- Weather protection. Keeps wind, rain and cold out of the dock during loading.
- Guidance aids. Guide stripes, wheel guides and lights help drivers park centrally.
- Retractable frames. Spring-loaded scissor arms fold back on impact and return afterwards.
- Sized to your fleet. Curtain sizes matched to vehicle widths, heights and dock height.
Typical scopes of work
- Replacing torn side and top curtains on existing retractable shelter frames instead of buying new shelters.
- Fitting foam dock seals at a bay used only by a dedicated fleet of identical trailers.
- Pricing shelters, levellers and sectional doors together for the refurbishment of an existing goods-in area.
What the law expects at a loading bay
Across Great Britain, including the Highlands and Islands, loading bays bring together several duties: maintained work equipment under PUWER 1998, safe traffic routes under the Workplace Regulations 1992, and safe powered doors under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008. Dock levellers should meet BS EN 1398, and the site's risk assessment should cover vehicle creep and drive-aways.
Access, phasing and timing
Where a door is being replaced, the opening has to be made secure at the end of each day. We plan strip-out, any new framing and the new door so the gap is never left open overnight unless you have agreed temporary measures.

Your questions about dock shelters and seals
Can a dock shelter in the Highlands and Islands be fitted with our existing leveller?
Usually, yes. The shelter fits around the dock door and works with most existing levellers, provided the bumpers stop the trailer at the right distance from the wall. We check the bumpers and leveller lip on survey.
Do you repair dock shelters in the Highlands and Islands?
Yes. We straighten or replace bent frames and arms, replace curtains, repair inflatable shelter blowers and bags, and renew bumpers. Repair visits are chargeable, and we quote before ordering any made-to-measure parts.
Which dock shelter suits our the Highlands and Islands warehouse?
Retractable shelters suit most mixed fleets. Inflatable shelters give a tighter seal for chilled, frozen or sensitive goods. Foam seals suit uniform fleets. We recommend one after recording your vehicles and dock on survey.
