What to specify
- Inflatable seals. Once the vehicle is in place, inflated bags press against its sides and roof.
- Weather protection. Keeps wind, rain and cold out of the dock during loading.
- Sized to your fleet. Curtain sizes matched to vehicle widths, heights and dock height.
- Foam seals. Foam pads that the trailer squeezes into, ideal where every vehicle is much the same.
- Temperature control. Less heated or chilled air escapes around the trailer while the door is up.
Jobs we can carry out
- Pricing shelters, levellers and sectional doors together for the refurbishment of an existing goods-in area.
- Replacing worn dock bumpers before fitting new shelters so trailers stop at the correct distance from the wall.
- Replacing torn side and top curtains on existing retractable shelter frames instead of buying new shelters.
What the law expects at a loading bay
Across Great Britain, including Blairgowrie, loading bays bring together several duties: maintained work equipment under PUWER 1998, safe traffic routes under the Workplace Regulations 1992, and safe powered doors under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008. Dock levellers should meet BS EN 1398, and the site's risk assessment should cover vehicle creep and drive-aways.
Access, phasing and timing
If your premises are leased, check whether the landlord needs to approve the work. We can provide drawings and product data for the landlord or managing agent before the order is placed.
