The short version
Door automation for warehouses, workshops and loading bays in Didcot. We convert manual doors to electric, fit motors and control panels, and add loops, radar, remotes and interlocks to suit how each door is used.

What to specify
- Safety devices. Safety edges, photocells and light curtains, force-tested to BS EN 12453.
- Inverter drives. Frequency inverters move busy doors faster while cutting wear on every cycle.
- Manual-to-electric. Hand-operated doors converted to power, with the paperwork a powered door needs.
- Traffic lights. Red and green lights and warning beacons for drivers.
- Interlocks. Airlocks, door-to-leveller and fire alarm interfaces.
Examples of work we can quote for
- Adding traffic lights and warning beacons to a yard door shared by lorries and pedestrians.
- Linking loading bay doors to dock leveller controls so levellers deploy only when the doors are fully open.
- Fitting a centre-mounted motor to a roller shutter where a side wall leaves no room at the barrel end.
Who is responsible for door safety at a site in Didcot?
In England, two sets of duties meet at a powered door. The installer who supplies or motorises it must hand over a door that meets the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008, tested against BS EN 12453 and documented. The business in control of the premises must then maintain it: regulation 5 of the Workplace Regulations 1992 covers maintenance, and regulation 18 requires upward-opening doors to have a device that stops them falling back and powered doors to have features that prevent trapping.
Access, phasing and timing
For busy sites in Oxfordshire the work can be split across visits — preparation and framing first, door installation and commissioning second — so the opening is only out of action for the shortest time.

Door automation and controls in Didcot: your questions
Do you take responsibility for the conformity paperwork in Didcot?
Yes. When we convert a door to power, we carry out the risk assessment, test the door and issue the Declaration of Conformity and user instructions, as the person who has made it a machine.
Can you add interlocks or traffic lights to doors around Oxfordshire?
Yes. We fit airlock interlocks, door-to-leveller interlocks, traffic lights and warning beacons to new and existing doors across Oxfordshire, subject to compatibility with the control panels already fitted, and replace panels where they cannot accept the extra inputs.
How long does a door automation job take in Didcot?
A straightforward conversion is usually completed and commissioned in a day. Loops, interlocks and traffic lights add time, and we plan the work so the door is out of use for as little time as possible.
