In short
When the original motor on a door in March (PE15) is no longer made, we fit an equivalent drive with the adapters it needs, set new limits and test closing forces before handover.

What our engineers check and fix
- Force testing. Where it applies, we measure closing forces to confirm the door is safe after the change.
- Re-commissioning. The door is fully re-commissioned and tested before it goes back into use.
- Written records. A record of the work and tests for your maintenance file.
- Fault diagnosis. Diagnosis comes first, so you only pay for the parts the door actually needs.
- Panel upgrades. New control panels with monitored safety inputs and inverter options.
Jobs we can carry out
- Replacing a burnt-out direct-drive motor on a loading bay door and fitting an inverter control panel at the same time.
- Re-commissioning a sectional door once a new motor is fitted, including new limit settings and closing force tests.
- Replacing a motor with a slipping brake on a heavy shutter that creeps down from a part-open position.
Who is responsible for door safety at a site in March?
In England, two sets of duties meet at a powered door. The installer who supplies or motorises it must hand over a door that meets the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008, tested against BS EN 12453 and documented. The business in control of the premises must then maintain it: regulation 5 of the Workplace Regulations 1992 covers maintenance, and regulation 18 requires upward-opening doors to have a device that stops them falling back and powered doors to have features that prevent trapping.
Access, phasing and timing
Service and repair visits in March are booked around your shifts. Doors and shutters are taken out of use one at a time, so the rest of the site keeps working while each one is checked.

Frequently asked questions
How much does an industrial door motor replacement cost in March?
Our guide price for a replacement motor is £845 to £2,395 ex VAT, supplied and fitted, depending on door size, drive type and whether a new control panel is needed. A diagnostic repair visit in March costs £145 to £195 ex VAT.
Is the motor really the problem with our door in March?
Not always. Broken springs, damaged guides, failed panels, safety device faults and supply problems can all look like a failed motor. We diagnose first so you do not pay for a motor that will not fix the fault.
Will our door in March be tested after the motor is changed?
Yes. We set limits, test the brake and manual override, check safety devices and measure closing forces where required, then give you a written record of the work and test results.
