Industrial door replacement in Irvine

In short

Is an old door at your Irvine site costing more in repairs than it is worth? We price replacement alongside repair so you can compare, then handle the whole changeover if replacement makes sense.

Town: Irvine
Postcode district: KA12
Area: Ayrshire
Survey: Free for new installations

What to specify

Commissioning. Safety devices tested, forces measured and instructions handed over.
Opening repairs. Any damage to the opening is put right so the new door fixes securely.
Minimal downtime. Made-to-measure door ordered first so the swap takes a day.
Safe strip-out. Tensioned springs and heavy parts are removed by trained engineers.
Ongoing servicing. We can service the new door from the start so its history begins on day one.

Typical scopes of work

Stripping out a sectional door with broken springs and an obsolete motor, and fitting a new door with an inverter drive.
Swapping a standard shutter for a security-rated door installed exactly to the manufacturer's certified specification.
Phasing the replacement of several loading doors so only one bay is out of use at a time.

Who is responsible for door safety at a site in Irvine?

In Scotland, two sets of duties meet at a powered door. The installer who supplies or motorises it must hand over a door that meets the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008, tested against BS EN 12453 and documented. The business in control of the premises must then maintain it: regulation 5 of the Workplace Regulations 1992 covers maintenance, and regulation 18 requires upward-opening doors to have a device that stops them falling back and powered doors to have features that prevent trapping.

Keeping your site running during the work

For busy sites in Ayrshire the work can be split across visits — preparation and framing first, door installation and commissioning second — so the opening is only out of action for the shortest time.

Questions from businesses in Irvine

Can we change door type when replacing at our Irvine unit?

Usually, yes, subject to headroom, side room and back room. Common upgrades are single-skin to insulated, manual to electric and conventional to high-speed. We check the space and the structure on survey before recommending a door type.

Is the survey free for door replacement in Irvine?

Yes. Surveys for replacements are free. We assess the old door and opening, measure for the new door, and quote a fixed price that lists the door, strip-out, disposal and any opening works separately.

Do you replace doors at multiple sites across Ayrshire?

Yes. We replace doors across Ayrshire, including planned programmes covering several sites or a whole run of units, phased so that each site keeps operating normally while its doors are being changed.
