Options for industrial door replacement in Redruth

Commissioning. Safety devices tested, forces measured and instructions handed over.
Opening repairs. Any damage to the opening is put right so the new door fixes securely.
Disposal. We take the old door away so there is nothing left on site to deal with.
Minimal downtime. The new door is ready before the old one comes out, keeping downtime short.
Safe strip-out. Tensioned springs and heavy parts are removed by trained engineers.

What this work can involve

Changing a manual sliding door for a new electric sectional door running on low-headroom tracks.
Replacing a corroded single-skin roller shutter on a trade unit with an insulated roller door and electric operation.
Phasing the replacement of several loading doors so only one bay is out of use at a time.

Who is responsible for door safety at a site in Redruth?

In England, two sets of duties meet at a powered door. The installer who supplies or motorises it must hand over a door that meets the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008, tested against BS EN 12453 and documented. The business in control of the premises must then maintain it: regulation 5 of the Workplace Regulations 1992 covers maintenance, and regulation 18 requires upward-opening doors to have a device that stops them falling back and powered doors to have features that prevent trapping.

Access, phasing and timing

If your premises are leased, check whether the landlord needs to approve the work. We can provide drawings and product data for the landlord or managing agent before the order is placed.

Frequently asked questions

How long will our opening in Redruth be out of use?

The new door is made to measure before the old one is removed, so a single door is usually stripped out and replaced in a day, with the opening secured again by the end of the visit.

Do you take the old door away from our Redruth site?

Yes. Strip-out includes removing the old door, springs, guides and drive from site for recycling or disposal. It is priced as a separate line in the quote so you can see exactly what removal costs.

Should we repair or replace our door in Redruth?

If the door has several faults, recurring problems or parts that are no longer made, replacement is often better value. We price repair and replacement side by side so you can decide on cost and remaining life.
