Fire shutter law in England
A fire shutter only does its job if it closes when needed. Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, the responsible person must keep fire safety equipment maintained in efficient working order, and keeping test records is the usual way to show it. Shutters must also stay as the manufacturer tested and certified them, so repairs should use the right parts. In Warwickshire, the enforcing authority is the local fire and rescue authority.
Planning the work around your site
Electrical work is the part that most often delays a job. If a new or converted door needs a supply, we confirm the motor's requirement at quote stage so your electrician can provide an isolator in the right place before installation day.

Fire shutters in Warwickshire: your questions
Who maintains a fire shutter at our Warwickshire premises?
The person in control of the premises: the responsible person in England and Wales, the dutyholder in Scotland, or in Northern Ireland the person with fire safety duties. Check your lease to see whether landlord or tenant arranges servicing.
Are your fire shutters in Warwickshire certified?
The certification belongs to the shutter: we supply products carrying the manufacturer's fire test evidence and Declaration of Performance, and install them to the certified specification so they perform as tested.
Can a fire shutter in Warwickshire be fitted to any wall?
No. It must be fitted to a wall of the type covered by the manufacturer's test evidence, with fire-stopping as detailed. If your wall differs, we explain what building work is needed before the shutter is ordered.
