What to specify
- Fail-safe closing. If the alarm sounds or the power goes, the shutter drops at a governed speed and closes the opening.
- Warning devices. Audible and visual warnings let people know the shutter is about to close.
- Records. Commissioning and drop test records handed over for the fire safety file.
- Alarm interface. We agree the cause-and-effect with your alarm contractor and prove the release at commissioning.
- Certified install. We follow the certified installation details exactly, because the rating depends on them.
Jobs we can carry out
- Fitting battery back-up, a beacon and a sounder to a new fire shutter on a service corridor.
- Installing a motorised fire shutter that also serves as the daily goods door between two warehouse compartments.
- Supplying a fire shutter to a fire engineer's specification on a new-build unit, timed to the main contractor's programme.
Fire shutter law in England
A fire shutter only does its job if it closes when needed. Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, the responsible person must keep fire safety equipment maintained in efficient working order, and keeping test records is the usual way to show it. Shutters must also stay as the manufacturer tested and certified them, so repairs should use the right parts. In Bedworth, the enforcing authority is the local fire and rescue authority.
Keeping your site running during the work
For busy sites in Warwickshire the work can be split across visits — preparation and framing first, door installation and commissioning second — so the opening is only out of action for the shortest time.

Questions from businesses in Bedworth
How long does fire shutter installation take at a Bedworth site?
A single shutter is typically fitted in one to two days, with commissioning and alarm testing on top. Lead times for fire-rated products are confirmed with the quote, and work is planned around your operations.
Are your fire shutters in Bedworth certified?
The certification belongs to the shutter: we supply products carrying the manufacturer's fire test evidence and Declaration of Performance, and install them to the certified specification so they perform as tested.
Can you link a fire shutter to our existing alarm in Bedworth?
Usually, yes. We work with your fire alarm contractor to agree the cause-and-effect and the interface, designed to BS 7273-4, and prove the shutter closes on the alarm signal at commissioning.
