What we fit in Berkshire
- Designed per opening. Each door engineered around the opening size, structure and site wind exposure.
- Wind resistance. Closed doors are designed to resist the wind pressure your site can see without jamming.
- Drives and controls. Electric drives per leaf or central, with manual or emergency operation.
- Safety systems. Large doors move a lot of mass, so warning and detection devices are built in from the start.
- Vertical-lift fabric. Reinforced fabric curtains with wind bars that fold up beneath the lintel.
Jobs we can carry out
- Coordinating floor rail installation with the groundworks contractor before new large-span door leaves arrive on site.
- Surveying and specifying a very wide sliding or folding door for a building that houses large plant and machinery.
- Installing heavy-duty sectional doors with wind-resistant panels across the frontage of a bus or coach garage.
Who is responsible for door safety at a site in Berkshire?
In England, two sets of duties meet at a powered door. The installer who supplies or motorises it must hand over a door that meets the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008, tested against BS EN 12453 and documented. The business in control of the premises must then maintain it: regulation 5 of the Workplace Regulations 1992 covers maintenance, and regulation 18 requires upward-opening doors to have a device that stops them falling back and powered doors to have features that prevent trapping.
Access, phasing and timing
Most installations in Berkshire can be phased so part of the site keeps working. We agree access routes, exclusion zones and any temporary security with you before the team arrives, and can work early mornings, evenings or weekends where the business needs it.

Frequently asked questions
Can a large door at our Berkshire site be operated without power?
Most powered large doors include a manual or emergency means of operation for power failures. How it works depends on the door type and size, and we explain it at handover and in the user instructions.
Can you refurbish our existing hangar doors in Berkshire?
Often, yes. If the leaves are sound, we renew wheels, guides, drives, cladding and safety devices. Where distortion or corrosion is severe, we explain why replacement may be better value.
Do you service large doors across the South East?
Yes. We service and repair hangar and large-span doors across the South East, including running gear, drives, controls and safety devices. Service and repair visits are chargeable and quoted before work starts.
