Options that matter on site

Multi-leaf sliding. Classic hangar doors with leaves that slide on parallel tracks and stack clear of the opening.
Load path. Bottom-rolling on floor rails or top-hung from the structure, agreed with your engineer.
Vertical-lift fabric. Tall openings with little side space can use a fabric door that lifts and folds into a compact stack.
Safety systems. Edge protection, photocells, warning lights, sounders and interlocks.
Refurbishment. Older hangar doors renewed with new wheels, guides, drives and cladding.

Jobs we can carry out

Installing heavy-duty sectional doors with wind-resistant panels across the frontage of a bus or coach garage.
Fitting a vertical-lift fabric door to a tall vehicle maintenance shed where adjoining buildings take up the side space.
Designing multi-leaf sliding doors, with a tail-fin cut-out where needed, for a hangar or large-span maintenance building.

Powered door rules that apply in Ely

Ely is in England, where powered industrial doors fall under Great Britain's health and safety law. Whoever makes a door powered — including converting a manual door — usually takes on the manufacturer's duties under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008: risk assessment, technical file, conformity marking and a Declaration of Conformity. Once it is in use, the employer or occupier must keep it safe under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998.

Access, phasing and timing

Most installations in Ely can be phased so part of the site keeps working. We agree access routes, exclusion zones and any temporary security with you before the team arrives, and can work early mornings, evenings or weekends where the business needs it.

Frequently asked questions

Do you work on hangar door projects with our engineer in Ely?

Yes. We coordinate loads, fixings, floor rails and steelwork with your structural engineer and main contractor so the door and the building are designed together, and we agree a programme before manufacture.

Can a large door at our Ely site be operated without power?

Most powered large doors include a manual or emergency means of operation for power failures. How it works depends on the door type and size, and we explain it at handover and in the user instructions.

How much does a hangar door cost in Ely?

Hangar and large-span doors are priced on survey because each is designed for its opening and structure. Typical projects start from around £39,995 ex VAT. After surveying your site in Ely, we confirm a fixed price in writing.
