What we fit in East Sussex
- Vertical-lift fabric. Tall openings with little side space can use a fabric door that lifts and folds into a compact stack.
- Refurbishment. Sound but tired doors can be brought back with new running gear, drives and safety devices.
- Load path. Bottom-rolling on floor rails or top-hung from the structure, agreed with your engineer.
- Safety systems. Large doors move a lot of mass, so warning and detection devices are built in from the start.
- Designed per opening. Each door engineered around the opening size, structure and site wind exposure.
Jobs we can carry out
- Installing heavy-duty sectional doors with wind-resistant panels across the frontage of a bus or coach garage.
- Surveying and specifying a very wide sliding or folding door for a building that houses large plant and machinery.
- Coordinating floor rail installation with the groundworks contractor before new large-span door leaves arrive on site.
Who is responsible for door safety at a site in East Sussex?
In England, two sets of duties meet at a powered door. The installer who supplies or motorises it must hand over a door that meets the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008, tested against BS EN 12453 and documented. The business in control of the premises must then maintain it: regulation 5 of the Workplace Regulations 1992 covers maintenance, and regulation 18 requires upward-opening doors to have a device that stops them falling back and powered doors to have features that prevent trapping.
Keeping your site running during the work
Most installations in East Sussex can be phased so part of the site keeps working. We agree access routes, exclusion zones and any temporary security with you before the team arrives, and can work early mornings, evenings or weekends where the business needs it.

Hangar and large-span doors in East Sussex: your questions
Which hangar door type would suit our building in East Sussex?
It depends on headroom, side space, structure and how often the door moves. Sliding doors need side space, vertical-lift fabric doors need headroom, and large sectional doors suit big but not extreme openings. We recommend after survey.
Can a large door at our East Sussex site be operated without power?
Most powered large doors include a manual or emergency means of operation for power failures. How it works depends on the door type and size, and we explain it at handover and in the user instructions.
Do you work on hangar door projects with our engineer in East Sussex?
Yes. We coordinate loads, fixings, floor rails and steelwork with your structural engineer and main contractor so the door and the building are designed together, and we agree a programme before manufacture.
