What to specify
- Designed per opening. Each door engineered around the opening size, structure and site wind exposure.
- Multi-leaf sliding. Leaves stacking to one or both sides, or into door pockets, with no headroom needed.
- Drives and controls. Powered leaves with controls to suit the site, plus a way to move the door if power is lost.
- Load path. We decide with your structural engineer whether the slab or the structure carries the door's weight.
- Wind resistance. Closed doors are designed to resist the wind pressure your site can see without jamming.
Examples of work we can quote for
- Refurbishing manual large-span sliding doors with new bottom wheels, top guides and an electric drive unit on each leaf.
- Fitting a vertical-lift fabric door to a tall vehicle maintenance shed where adjoining buildings take up the side space.
- Designing multi-leaf sliding doors, with a tail-fin cut-out where needed, for a hangar or large-span maintenance building.
Who is responsible for door safety at a site in Fife?
In Scotland, two sets of duties meet at a powered door. The installer who supplies or motorises it must hand over a door that meets the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008, tested against BS EN 12453 and documented. The business in control of the premises must then maintain it: regulation 5 of the Workplace Regulations 1992 covers maintenance, and regulation 18 requires upward-opening doors to have a device that stops them falling back and powered doors to have features that prevent trapping.
Keeping your site running during the work
Sites in and around Fife vary from tight trade counters to large distribution yards. The survey records access for our vehicle and platform, overhead obstructions and floor condition so the installation day runs without surprises.

Hangar and large-span doors in Fife: your questions
Do you work on hangar door projects with our engineer in Fife?
Yes. We coordinate loads, fixings, floor rails and steelwork with your structural engineer and main contractor so the door and the building are designed together, and we agree a programme before manufacture.
How much does a hangar door cost in Fife?
Hangar and large-span doors are priced on survey because each is designed for its opening and structure. Typical projects start from around £39,995 ex VAT. After surveying your site in Fife, we confirm a fixed price in writing.
Can a large door at our Fife site be operated without power?
Most powered large doors include a manual or emergency means of operation for power failures. How it works depends on the door type and size, and we explain it at handover and in the user instructions.
