What to specify
- Vision panels. See-through panels let drivers and pedestrians spot each other before the door opens.
- Smart activation. The door opens only for the traffic you choose, from forklifts on loops to pedestrians on buttons.
- Breakaway bottom bars. If a truck catches the door, the bottom bar breaks away rather than bending the frame.
- Fabric doors. PVC-coated fabric roll-up doors for internal routes and sheltered external openings.
- Inverter drives. Soft start and stop protect the curtain and drive at high cycle rates.
Typical scopes of work
- Setting up radar with cross-traffic suppression so a door on a busy aisle opens only for approaching traffic.
- Cutting induction loops on both sides of a high-speed door so forklifts trigger it but pedestrians do not.
- Replacing a worn fabric curtain, bottom bar and drive belt on a door logging thousands of cycles a week.
Powered door rules that apply in Holloway
Holloway is in England, where powered industrial doors fall under Great Britain's health and safety law. Whoever makes a door powered — including converting a manual door — usually takes on the manufacturer's duties under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008: risk assessment, technical file, conformity marking and a Declaration of Conformity. Once it is in use, the employer or occupier must keep it safe under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998.
Planning the work around your site
Electrical work is the part that most often delays a job. If a new or converted door needs a supply, we confirm the motor's requirement at quote stage so your electrician can provide an isolator in the right place before installation day.

High-speed doors in Holloway: your questions
What safety features will a high-speed door at our Holloway premises have?
Typically a full-height light curtain or photocells, limited closing forces, and on many fabric models a soft or breakaway bottom edge. The exact package comes from the risk assessment for your traffic and is tested before handover.
How long does it take to install a high-speed door in Holloway?
A typical fabric door is fitted and commissioned in a day once it arrives. Spiral doors, interlocks and floor loops add time. The manufacturer's lead time is confirmed with your quote, and we fit around your operations.
Which type of high-speed door suits our Holloway site?
Fabric doors suit most internal openings and many sheltered external ones. Spiral doors suit exposed external openings and sites that need insulation and security from the same door. We recommend a type after looking at traffic, exposure and temperature on the survey.
