What we fit in Pimlico
- Self-repairing curtains. After a knock, many curtains reset themselves automatically instead of waiting for an engineer.
- Fabric doors. PVC-coated fabric roll-up doors for internal routes and sheltered external openings.
- Light curtains. Sensors along the side frames watch the whole opening and keep the door open while it is occupied.
- Smart activation. Radar, loops, pull cords or interlocks set to the traffic using the door.
- Inverter drives. A frequency inverter accelerates and brakes the curtain smoothly, cutting wear on every cycle.
Examples of work we can quote for
- Adding a high-speed fabric door inside an existing sectional door so the outer door can stay open during the shift.
- Setting up radar with cross-traffic suppression so a door on a busy aisle opens only for approaching traffic.
- Interlocking two high-speed doors as an airlock between a clean production area and the general warehouse.
Powered door rules that apply in Pimlico
Pimlico is in England, where powered industrial doors fall under Great Britain's health and safety law. Whoever makes a door powered — including converting a manual door — usually takes on the manufacturer's duties under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008: risk assessment, technical file, conformity marking and a Declaration of Conformity. Once it is in use, the employer or occupier must keep it safe under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998.
How the work is organised
Most installations in Pimlico can be phased so part of the site keeps working. We agree access routes, exclusion zones and any temporary security with you before the team arrives, and can work early mornings, evenings or weekends where the business needs it.

High-speed doors in Pimlico: your questions
What safety features will a high-speed door at our Pimlico premises have?
Typically a full-height light curtain or photocells, limited closing forces, and on many fabric models a soft or breakaway bottom edge. The exact package comes from the risk assessment for your traffic and is tested before handover.
Do high-speed doors in Pimlico need more servicing than standard doors?
Usually, yes, because they cycle so often. We base the service interval on the cycle counter and the manufacturer's guidance rather than a fixed annual visit, and can set up a planned maintenance schedule.
Can you fit a high-speed door alongside our existing door in Pimlico?
Often, yes. A high-speed door can sit inside or outside an existing shutter or sectional door, with the conventional door closed at night. We check the space and fixings on survey.
