What we fit in North Yorkshire
- Inverter drives. A frequency inverter accelerates and brakes the curtain smoothly, cutting wear on every cycle.
- Fabric doors. Lightweight roll-up curtains that suit most internal doorways and many protected external ones.
- Vision panels. See-through panels let drivers and pedestrians spot each other before the door opens.
- Breakaway bottom bars. If a truck catches the door, the bottom bar breaks away rather than bending the frame.
- Smart activation. The door opens only for the traffic you choose, from forklifts on loops to pedestrians on buttons.
Typical scopes of work
- Replacing a worn fabric curtain, bottom bar and drive belt on a door logging thousands of cycles a week.
- Fitting a self-repairing fabric door between production and dispatch where a conventional shutter stands open all shift.
- Cutting induction loops on both sides of a high-speed door so forklifts trigger it but pedestrians do not.
Who is responsible for door safety at a site in North Yorkshire?
In England, two sets of duties meet at a powered door. The installer who supplies or motorises it must hand over a door that meets the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008, tested against BS EN 12453 and documented. The business in control of the premises must then maintain it: regulation 5 of the Workplace Regulations 1992 covers maintenance, and regulation 18 requires upward-opening doors to have a device that stops them falling back and powered doors to have features that prevent trapping.
Access, phasing and timing
Where a door is being replaced, the opening has to be made secure at the end of each day. We plan strip-out, any new framing and the new door so the gap is never left open overnight unless you have agreed temporary measures.

High-speed doors in North Yorkshire: your questions
Can you fit a high-speed door alongside our existing door in North Yorkshire?
Often, yes. A high-speed door can sit inside or outside an existing shutter or sectional door, with the conventional door closed at night. We check the space and fixings on survey.
Do you repair high-speed doors across Yorkshire and the Humber?
Yes. We repair fabric and spiral high-speed doors across Yorkshire and the Humber, including curtains, bottom bars, drives, inverters and safety devices, subject to parts availability. Repair visits are chargeable and quoted up front.
Which type of high-speed door suits our North Yorkshire site?
Fabric doors suit most internal openings and many sheltered external ones. Spiral doors suit exposed external openings and sites that need insulation and security from the same door. We recommend a type after looking at traffic, exposure and temperature on the survey.
