Options that matter on site

Fabric doors. PVC-coated fabric roll-up doors for internal routes and sheltered external openings.
Smart activation. Radar, loops, pull cords or interlocks set to the traffic using the door.
Breakaway bottom bars. If a truck catches the door, the bottom bar breaks away rather than bending the frame.
Light curtains. Sensors along the side frames watch the whole opening and keep the door open while it is occupied.
Vision panels. See-through panels let drivers and pedestrians spot each other before the door opens.

Jobs we can carry out

Cutting induction loops on both sides of a high-speed door so forklifts trigger it but pedestrians do not.
Installing an insulated spiral door as the main external opening on a temperature-controlled distribution unit.
Adding a high-speed fabric door inside an existing sectional door so the outer door can stay open during the shift.

Powered door rules that apply in Yeadon

Yeadon is in England, where powered industrial doors fall under Great Britain's health and safety law. Whoever makes a door powered — including converting a manual door — usually takes on the manufacturer's duties under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008: risk assessment, technical file, conformity marking and a Declaration of Conformity. Once it is in use, the employer or occupier must keep it safe under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998.

Access, phasing and timing

Where a door is being replaced, the opening has to be made secure at the end of each day. We plan strip-out, any new framing and the new door so the gap is never left open overnight unless you have agreed temporary measures.

Questions from businesses in Yeadon

Can you fit a high-speed door alongside our existing door in Yeadon?

Often, yes. A high-speed door can sit inside or outside an existing shutter or sectional door, with the conventional door closed at night. We check the space and fixings on survey.

Do high-speed doors in Yeadon need more servicing than standard doors?

Usually, yes, because they cycle so often. We base the service interval on the cycle counter and the manufacturer's guidance rather than a fixed annual visit, and can set up a planned maintenance schedule.

What safety features will a high-speed door at our Yeadon premises have?

Typically a full-height light curtain or photocells, limited closing forces, and on many fabric models a soft or breakaway bottom edge. The exact package comes from the risk assessment for your traffic and is tested before handover.
