Typical scopes of work

Phasing the replacement of several loading bay doors over consecutive weekends so goods-in stays open during the week.

Installing a fire shutter in a compartment wall where a conveyor line passes between production and dispatch areas.

Safety law for industrial doors in England

Industrial doors in Harwich are covered by the same rules as the rest of Great Britain. On handover you should receive user instructions and, for a powered door, the conformity paperwork, because the installer is treated as the manufacturer when they assemble or motorise it. Afterwards, keeping the door in efficient working order is the occupier's job under the Workplace Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998, which in practice means regular servicing and a written log.

Keeping your site running during the work

Sites in and around Harwich vary from tight trade counters to large distribution yards. The survey records access for our vehicle and platform, overhead obstructions and floor condition so the installation day runs without surprises.

Your questions about industrial door installation

How soon could a new door be installed at our Harwich premises?

It depends mainly on the manufacturer's lead time for a made-to-measure door, which we confirm in the quote. Installation is then booked around your operations, and most single doors are fitted and commissioned in a day.

Is the survey free for sites in Harwich?

Yes, for new installations and replacements. We measure the opening and the space around it, check fixings, power and obstructions, and talk through how the door is used before preparing a written quote. Repair and service visits are charged separately.

Do you service and repair industrial doors across Essex?

Yes. We repair and maintain the doors we install and most other makes across Essex. Repair and service visits are chargeable, and a planned maintenance schedule can be set up once the new door is in.
