What this work can involve

Fitting a freezer door with heated frame and inside release to a new cold room within a food production unit.
Adding a high-speed fabric door inside an existing shutter so the main door can stay open through the working day.
Supplying a bottom-rolling sliding door for a wide opening where there is no headroom for a coiled or tracked door.

Safety law for industrial doors in England

Industrial doors in Clacton-on-Sea are covered by the same rules as the rest of Great Britain. On handover you should receive user instructions and, for a powered door, the conformity paperwork, because the installer is treated as the manufacturer when they assemble or motorise it. Afterwards, keeping the door in efficient working order is the occupier's job under the Workplace Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998, which in practice means regular servicing and a written log.

How the work is organised

For busy sites in Essex the work can be split across visits — preparation and framing first, door installation and commissioning second — so the opening is only out of action for the shortest time.
