Industrial roller shutters in Larne

In short

Replacing a tired shutter in Larne, or converting a manual one to electric? We quote a fixed price in writing after surveying the opening, then fit, test and hand over the door.

Town: Larne
Postcode district: BT40
Area: Antrim
Survey: Free for new installations

What to specify

Compact coil. The curtain winds onto a barrel above the opening, leaving floor and roof space free.
Steel curtains. Galvanised steel laths in gauges to suit the width and the level of abuse expected.
Manual or electric. Hand-operated for occasional use, electric for anything opened through the working day.
Security. Locking options for everyday security, and certified rated shutters where insurers ask for them.
Manual override. If the power fails, the shutter can still be wound open by hand.

Typical scopes of work

Face-fixing a roller shutter with a steel hood where internal racking leaves no room behind the opening.
Supplying a security-rated roller shutter, installed to the certified specification, to meet an insurer's requirement for a high-value stockroom.
Installing perforated shutters across a covered loading area so the space stays ventilated and visible when locked.

Powered door rules in Northern Ireland

Larne is in Northern Ireland, where workplace safety is regulated by HSENI under the Health and Safety at Work (Northern Ireland) Order 1978. The Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1993 and PUWER (Northern Ireland) 1999 require occupiers to keep powered doors safe and maintained. Under the Windsor Framework, EU machinery rules and CE marking continue to apply to powered doors placed on the market here, with the EU Machinery Regulation 2023/1230 applying from 20 January 2027.

Keeping your site running during the work

For busy sites in County Antrim the work can be split across visits — preparation and framing first, door installation and commissioning second — so the opening is only out of action for the shortest time.

Frequently asked questions

Can you convert our manual shutter in Larne to electric?

Often, yes, if the barrel, curtain and guides are in good condition. Our guide price for a conversion is £1,195 to £3,195 ex VAT. We become responsible for the conformity paperwork on the converted door and fit the safety devices it needs.

Does an electric roller shutter at our Larne site need safety devices?

It depends on the risk assessment. A hold-to-run shutter in view of the operator may need little more than force limiting, while one that closes automatically typically needs a safety edge and photocells, tested to BS EN 12453.

How quickly can a roller shutter be fitted in Larne?

Once the made-to-measure shutter arrives, most single doors are fitted and commissioned in a day. The manufacturer's lead time is confirmed with your quote, and installation is booked around your opening hours.
