Options that matter on site
- Specialist grades. Tinted strips for insect control or welding bays, and anti-static grades where needed.
- No power. With no electrics involved, the curtain keeps working with only cleaning and strip renewal.
- Ribbed strips. Ribs protect the clear face of each strip from scratches on busy vehicle routes.
- Sliding rails. Where big loads come through, the curtain can slide or swing out of the way.
- Draught control. Strips cut the loss of heated or chilled air through busy openings.
What this work can involve
- Fitting ribbed PVC strip curtains inside loading bay doors so the doors can stay open between deliveries.
- Adding a swing-away rail so a strip curtain can be moved clear for long or oversized loads.
- Supplying polar-grade strips for a freezer doorway where standard PVC stiffens and cracks in the cold.
Traffic route rules in Northern Ireland
In Northern Ireland, the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1993 require traffic routes to be organised so pedestrians and vehicles can move safely and kept in good repair, with HSENI as the regulator. Clear, undamaged strips are part of that.
Access, phasing and timing
For busy sites in County Antrim the work can be split across visits — preparation and framing first, door installation and commissioning second — so the opening is only out of action for the shortest time.

Frequently asked questions
Is a strip curtain or a high-speed door better for our Larne site?
A strip curtain costs far less and suits most openings. A high-speed door seals better, keeps a clear view and suits very busy or temperature-critical openings. We price both where either could work.
How often should strip curtains in Larne be replaced?
It depends on traffic. Pedestrian doorways can go years between changes; busy forklift routes need new strips sooner. Replace any strip that is torn, cloudy or badly scratched so visibility stays good.
Do strip curtains work in cold stores around County Antrim?
Yes, with polar-grade PVC that stays flexible at low temperatures. We fit strip curtains inside cold store and freezer doors across County Antrim to cut the cold air lost while doors are open.
