What to specify
- Ribbed strips. Ribs protect the clear face of each strip from scratches on busy vehicle routes.
- Specialist grades. Tinted strips for insect control or welding bays, and anti-static grades where needed.
- Draught control. Strips cut the loss of heated or chilled air through busy openings.
- No power. No motors, sensors or controls, so almost nothing to go wrong.
- Sliding rails. Where big loads come through, the curtain can slide or swing out of the way.
What this work can involve
- Supplying polar-grade strips for a freezer doorway where standard PVC stiffens and cracks in the cold.
- Replacing scratched, cloudy strips on a forklift route so drivers and pedestrians can see each other clearly.
- Supplying replacement strips cut to length for existing hook-on rails across several doorways in one visit.
Traffic route rules in Northern Ireland
In Northern Ireland, the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations (Northern Ireland) 1993 require traffic routes to be organised so pedestrians and vehicles can move safely and kept in good repair, with HSENI as the regulator. Clear, undamaged strips are part of that.
Keeping your site running during the work
Where a door is being replaced, the opening has to be made secure at the end of each day. We plan strip-out, any new framing and the new door so the gap is never left open overnight unless you have agreed temporary measures.

Your questions about PVC strip curtains
Is a strip curtain or a high-speed door better for our Ballymena site?
A strip curtain costs far less and suits most openings. A high-speed door seals better, keeps a clear view and suits very busy or temperature-critical openings. We price both where either could work.
How much is a PVC strip curtain in Ballymena?
Our guide price is £175 to £895 ex VAT per doorway, supplied and fitted, depending on opening size, strip grade and rail type. We confirm the fixed price for your openings in Ballymena in writing after a free survey.
How often should strip curtains in Ballymena be replaced?
It depends on traffic. Pedestrian doorways can go years between changes; busy forklift routes need new strips sooner. Replace any strip that is torn, cloudy or badly scratched so visibility stays good.
