Options for industrial roller shutters in Billericay

Manual or electric. Push-up, chain hoist or motorised operation depending on how often the door opens.
Steel curtains. Heavier lath gauges for wide or exposed doors; lighter profiles where space and budget are tight.
Security. Bottom-rail locks and shoot bolts, with LPS 1175 rated products available.
Manual override. Powered shutters keep a chain or handle override so they open without power.
Safety devices. Motorised shutters get the safety functions their risk assessment needs before handover.

Examples of work we can quote for

Face-fixing a roller shutter with a steel hood where internal racking leaves no room behind the opening.
Converting hand-chained shutters on a storage unit to electric operation with key-switch controls and safety edges.
Supplying a security-rated roller shutter, installed to the certified specification, to meet an insurer's requirement for a high-value stockroom.

Safety law for industrial doors in England

Industrial doors in Billericay are covered by the same rules as the rest of Great Britain. On handover you should receive user instructions and, for a powered door, the conformity paperwork, because the installer is treated as the manufacturer when they assemble or motorise it. Afterwards, keeping the door in efficient working order is the occupier's job under the Workplace Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998, which in practice means regular servicing and a written log.

Access, phasing and timing

Where a door is being replaced, the opening has to be made secure at the end of each day. We plan strip-out, any new framing and the new door so the gap is never left open overnight unless you have agreed temporary measures.

Your questions about industrial roller shutters

How quickly can a roller shutter be fitted in Billericay?

Once the made-to-measure shutter arrives, most single doors are fitted and commissioned in a day. The manufacturer's lead time is confirmed with your quote, and installation is booked around your opening hours.

Can you convert our manual shutter in Billericay to electric?

Often, yes, if the barrel, curtain and guides are in good condition. Our guide price for a conversion is £1,195 to £3,195 ex VAT. We become responsible for the conformity paperwork on the converted door and fit the safety devices it needs.

Can you supply security-rated shutters in Billericay?

Yes. Where your insurer asks for a rating such as LPS 1175, we supply a shutter whose manufacturer holds that certification and install it to the certified specification. Check the exact rating your insurer wants before ordering.
