What to specify
- Compact coil. Nothing runs back under the roof: the shutter coils up neatly above the lintel.
- Manual override. If the power fails, the shutter can still be wound open by hand.
- Security. Bottom-rail locks and shoot bolts, with LPS 1175 rated products available.
- Mounting options. We mount the shutter wherever it fits most easily, including outside with a hood over the coil.
- Safety devices. Safety edges, photocells and anti-fall devices on powered shutters.
Examples of work we can quote for
- Renewing the bottom rail, floor seal and end locks on a roller shutter that jams in its guides.
- Fitting a galvanised roller shutter to a new bin store or recycling compound, with a lockable bottom rail.
- Replacing a vehicle-damaged shutter in a trade yard with a heavier-gauge curtain and guide-rail protection.
Powered door rules that apply in Powys
Powys is in Wales, where powered industrial doors fall under Great Britain's health and safety law. Whoever makes a door powered — including converting a manual door — usually takes on the manufacturer's duties under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008: risk assessment, technical file, conformity marking and a Declaration of Conformity. Once it is in use, the employer or occupier must keep it safe under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998.
Keeping your site running during the work
