Options that matter on site

Colour finishes. Leave it galvanised or choose a colour that matches the building.
Compact coil. The curtain winds onto a barrel above the opening, leaving floor and roof space free.
Safety devices. Safety edges, photocells and anti-fall devices on powered shutters.
Mounting options. We mount the shutter wherever it fits most easily, including outside with a hood over the coil.
Steel curtains. Heavier lath gauges for wide or exposed doors; lighter profiles where space and budget are tight.

What this work can involve

Converting hand-chained shutters on a storage unit to electric operation with key-switch controls and safety edges.
Replacing a run of rusted shutters on a block of trade units, finished in one matching RAL colour.
Replacing a vehicle-damaged shutter in a trade yard with a heavier-gauge curtain and guide-rail protection.

Powered door rules that apply in Reigate

Reigate is in England, where powered industrial doors fall under Great Britain's health and safety law. Whoever makes a door powered — including converting a manual door — usually takes on the manufacturer's duties under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008: risk assessment, technical file, conformity marking and a Declaration of Conformity. Once it is in use, the employer or occupier must keep it safe under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998.

Access, phasing and timing

Before work starts we send a method statement and risk assessment, confirm who on site will be our contact and agree where materials and access equipment will go. On shared industrial estates that can mean booking yard space with the landlord.
