Options for insulated roller shutter doors in Farnborough

Compact coil. The curtain coils above the opening, leaving ceilings free for lights and sprinklers.
Safety devices. Every powered door gets the safety functions its risk assessment calls for and is tested before handover.
Colour choice. Powder-coated RAL finishes to match cladding and building trims.
Weather seals. Brush or rubber guide seals and a rubber bottom seal against draughts and rain.
Electric drive. Motor inside the barrel or on its end, with a chain or handle so the door still opens without power.

Typical scopes of work

Supplying insulated roller doors in one matching RAL colour across a terrace of refurbished small business units.
Fitting a compact insulated service door to a plant room to reduce the noise reaching neighbouring offices.
Replacing a corroded single-skin shutter on a heated workshop with an insulated roller door and radio remote control.

Powered door rules that apply in Farnborough

Farnborough is in England, where powered industrial doors fall under Great Britain's health and safety law. Whoever makes a door powered — including converting a manual door — usually takes on the manufacturer's duties under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008: risk assessment, technical file, conformity marking and a Declaration of Conformity. Once it is in use, the employer or occupier must keep it safe under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998.

Access, phasing and timing

Your questions about insulated roller shutter doors

How long does insulated roller door installation take in Farnborough?

Most single doors are fitted and commissioned in a day once the made-to-measure door has arrived. The manufacturer's lead time is confirmed with your quote so you can plan around it.

Is there enough headroom for an insulated roller door at our Farnborough unit?

The coil on an insulated curtain is larger than on a single-skin shutter, so we measure the space above the lintel on survey. Where headroom is very tight, the coil can sometimes be fitted outside the opening or a lower-profile option chosen.

Does a powered insulated roller door in Farnborough need safety devices?

If the door closes automatically or can trap someone, yes. The risk assessment decides what is needed, typically a safety edge, photocells and closing forces tested to BS EN 12453, plus anti-fall protection on heavier curtains.
