What we fit in Faversham

Foam-filled laths. Each lath has two metal skins with insulating foam between them, so the curtain holds heat far better.
Controls. Buttons, key switches, remotes, induction loops or radar to suit your traffic.
Compact coil. No tracks under the roof: the door rolls up into a neat coil above the lintel.
Wind locks. On exposed elevations, wind locks hook the laths into the guides so gusts cannot push the curtain out.
Safety devices. Safety edges, photocells and anti-fall devices fitted as the risk assessment requires.

What this work can involve

Adding wind locks and a heavier geared motor to a wide insulated roller door on an exposed elevation.
Renewing worn guide brushes, the head seal and the bottom-rail seal on an insulated roller door that lets in draughts.
Fitting a compact insulated service door to a plant room to reduce the noise reaching neighbouring offices.

Who is responsible for door safety at a site in Faversham?

In England, two sets of duties meet at a powered door. The installer who supplies or motorises it must hand over a door that meets the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008, tested against BS EN 12453 and documented. The business in control of the premises must then maintain it: regulation 5 of the Workplace Regulations 1992 covers maintenance, and regulation 18 requires upward-opening doors to have a device that stops them falling back and powered doors to have features that prevent trapping.

Planning the work around your site

For busy sites in Kent the work can be split across visits — preparation and framing first, door installation and commissioning second — so the opening is only out of action for the shortest time.

Insulated roller shutter doors in Faversham: your questions

How long does insulated roller door installation take in Faversham?

Most single doors are fitted and commissioned in a day once the made-to-measure door has arrived. The manufacturer's lead time is confirmed with your quote so you can plan around it.

How much does an insulated roller shutter door cost in Faversham?

Our guide price for an electric insulated roller door up to about 4 × 4 m is £3,195 to £7,495 ex VAT, supplied and fitted. We survey your Faversham opening free of charge and then put a fixed price in writing.

Is there enough headroom for an insulated roller door at our Faversham unit?

The coil on an insulated curtain is larger than on a single-skin shutter, so we measure the space above the lintel on survey. Where headroom is very tight, the coil can sometimes be fitted outside the opening or a lower-profile option chosen.
