What we fit in Melton Mowbray

Electric drive. Tubular or external geared motors with a manual override for power cuts.
Foam-filled laths. Double-skin laths with a polyurethane core cut heat loss compared with single skin.
Colour choice. Powder-coated RAL finishes to match cladding and building trims.
Compact coil. No tracks under the roof: the door rolls up into a neat coil above the lintel.
Safety devices. Every powered door gets the safety functions its risk assessment calls for and is tested before handover.

What this work can involve

Converting a hand-chained insulated roller door to electric operation with a safety edge and photocells.
Fitting a compact insulated service door to a plant room to reduce the noise reaching neighbouring offices.
Fitting an insulated roller door to a trade counter unit where sprinkler mains leave no room for sectional door tracks.

Safety law for industrial doors in England

Industrial doors in Melton Mowbray are covered by the same rules as the rest of Great Britain. On handover you should receive user instructions and, for a powered door, the conformity paperwork, because the installer is treated as the manufacturer when they assemble or motorise it. Afterwards, keeping the door in efficient working order is the occupier's job under the Workplace Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998, which in practice means regular servicing and a written log.

Access, phasing and timing

Before work starts we send a method statement and risk assessment, confirm who on site will be our contact and agree where materials and access equipment will go. On shared industrial estates that can mean booking yard space with the landlord.

Frequently asked questions

Does a powered insulated roller door in Melton Mowbray need safety devices?

If the door closes automatically or can trap someone, yes. The risk assessment decides what is needed, typically a safety edge, photocells and closing forces tested to BS EN 12453, plus anti-fall protection on heavier curtains.

Can you replace our old roller shutter in Melton Mowbray with an insulated one?

Yes. We recommend a complete new door rather than a new curtain on old parts, and include strip-out and disposal in the quote so the old shutter goes when the new one is fitted.

How much does an insulated roller shutter door cost in Melton Mowbray?

Our guide price for an electric insulated roller door up to about 4 × 4 m is £3,195 to £7,495 ex VAT, supplied and fitted. We survey your Melton Mowbray opening free of charge and then put a fixed price in writing.
