Options for insulated roller shutter doors in Barry

Compact coil. No tracks under the roof: the door rolls up into a neat coil above the lintel.
Foam-filled laths. Double-skin laths with a polyurethane core cut heat loss compared with single skin.
Weather seals. Brush or rubber guide seals and a rubber bottom seal against draughts and rain.
Colour choice. Choose a colour to suit your building, with a matching hood over the coil if wanted.
Controls. From a simple button station to loops and radar, the controls match how often the door opens.

Powered door rules that apply in Barry

Barry is in Wales, where powered industrial doors fall under Great Britain's health and safety law. Whoever makes a door powered — including converting a manual door — usually takes on the manufacturer's duties under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008: risk assessment, technical file, conformity marking and a Declaration of Conformity. Once it is in use, the employer or occupier must keep it safe under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998.

Planning the work around your site

Before work starts we send a method statement and risk assessment, confirm who on site will be our contact and agree where materials and access equipment will go. On shared industrial estates that can mean booking yard space with the landlord.

Frequently asked questions

Will an insulated roller door cut heating bills at our Barry premises?

It loses much less heat than a single-skin shutter, especially with good seals and quick electric operation. How much you save depends on your building, heating system and how long the door stays open.

How much does an insulated roller shutter door cost in Barry?

Our guide price for an electric insulated roller door up to about 4 × 4 m is £3,195 to £7,495 ex VAT, supplied and fitted. We survey your Barry opening free of charge and then put a fixed price in writing.

Does a powered insulated roller door in Barry need safety devices?

If the door closes automatically or can trap someone, yes. The risk assessment decides what is needed, typically a safety edge, photocells and closing forces tested to BS EN 12453, plus anti-fall protection on heavier curtains.
