At a glance
Busy loading doors at your Llanelli (SA15) site wear out faster than quiet ones. Planned servicing catches tired springs, frayed cables and failing safety edges before they stop the door mid-shift.

What this work can involve

- Combining door servicing with fire shutter drop tests so a site needs only one planned visit.
Who is responsible for door safety at a site in Llanelli?
In Wales, two sets of duties meet at a powered door. The installer who supplies or motorises it must hand over a door that meets the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008, tested against BS EN 12453 and documented. The business in control of the premises must then maintain it: regulation 5 of the Workplace Regulations 1992 covers maintenance, and regulation 18 requires upward-opening doors to have a device that stops them falling back and powered doors to have features that prevent trapping.
Access, phasing and timing
Before work starts we send a method statement and risk assessment, confirm who on site will be our contact and agree where materials and access equipment will go. On shared industrial estates that can mean booking yard space with the landlord.
