What we fit in Winchester
- Records. You receive a record of the devices fitted and the tests carried out.
- Panel upgrades. Where the old panel cannot monitor devices, we replace it with one that can.
- Warning devices. Beacons, sounders and traffic lights to warn people of a moving door.
- Photocells. Beams across the opening that stop the door closing while broken.
- Light curtains. Many beams from floor to head detect people and vehicles anywhere in the opening.
Jobs we can carry out
- Upgrading an old relay control panel so monitored safety edges and photocells can be connected to it.
- Force-testing a run of loading bay doors and adjusting closing speeds where results exceed the limits.
- Fitting spring-break and cable-break devices to older sectional doors installed without any fall protection.
Safety law for industrial doors in England
Industrial doors in Winchester are covered by the same rules as the rest of Great Britain. On handover you should receive user instructions and, for a powered door, the conformity paperwork, because the installer is treated as the manufacturer when they assemble or motorise it. Afterwards, keeping the door in efficient working order is the occupier's job under the Workplace Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998, which in practice means regular servicing and a written log.
How the work is organised
Most installations in Winchester can be phased so part of the site keeps working. We agree access routes, exclusion zones and any temporary security with you before the team arrives, and can work early mornings, evenings or weekends where the business needs it.
