What we fit in Trowbridge
- Panel upgrades. Control panels with monitored safety inputs where older ones fall short.
- Fall protection. Spring-break, cable-break and anti-fall devices against suspension failure.
- Warning devices. Lights and sounders make sure people know when a door is about to move.
- Force testing. Closing forces measured against BS EN 12453 limits and recorded.
- Safety edges. Edges on the closing rail detect contact and send the door back up.
Typical scopes of work
- Force-testing a run of loading bay doors and adjusting closing speeds where results exceed the limits.
- Fitting a full-height light curtain to an automatic sectional door on a busy pedestrian route.
- Replacing a damaged or bypassed safety edge on a yard roller shutter and re-testing its closing forces.
Powered door rules that apply in Trowbridge
Trowbridge is in England, where powered industrial doors fall under Great Britain's health and safety law. Whoever makes a door powered — including converting a manual door — usually takes on the manufacturer's duties under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008: risk assessment, technical file, conformity marking and a Declaration of Conformity. Once it is in use, the employer or occupier must keep it safe under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998.
Access, phasing and timing
Downtime matters on a working site, so the programme is set around your shifts. For a single door the opening is usually needed for a day; multi-door jobs are done one bay at a time so deliveries keep moving.

Frequently asked questions
Will a safety upgrade at our Trowbridge premises include paperwork?
Yes. We record the devices fitted, the force test results and any changes to the control panel, and update the door's risk assessment, giving you written evidence that the door was checked and upgraded.
Do you upgrade doors from other installers across Wiltshire?
Yes. We upgrade safety devices on most makes of powered door across Wiltshire, whoever installed them, checking that new devices are compatible with the existing control panel and replacing the panel where needed.
Do our powered doors in Trowbridge need safety upgrades?
It depends on how they are controlled and used. Doors that close automatically or on a single press typically need edges and photocells or light curtains. A survey and force test shows whether your doors meet current expectations.
