Postcode district: HP4
Area: Hertfordshire
Survey: Free for new installations

What to specify

Track layouts. Standard, low headroom, high lift and vertical lift tracks, chosen after measuring your headroom.
Safety devices. Every powered door is fitted with the safety functions its risk assessment needs and force-tested before handover.
Paperwork. Declaration of Performance, user instructions and commissioning records handed over on completion.
Vision panels. Glazed rows or full-vision sections bring daylight in and let drivers see the yard.
Insulated panels. Steel sandwich panels with a foam core keep heat in and noise out; thicker panels are available for temperature-controlled units.

Examples of work we can quote for

Converting a manual chain-operated sectional door to electric operation with a shaft-mounted motor, safety edge and photocells.
Replacing a draughty single-skin roller shutter with an insulated sectional door and a low-threshold wicket door.
Adding induction loops and an inverter drive so forklifts can open a busy internal sectional door without stopping.

Who is responsible for door safety at a site in Berkhamsted?

In England, two sets of duties meet at a powered door. The installer who supplies or motorises it must hand over a door that meets the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008, tested against BS EN 12453 and documented. The business in control of the premises must then maintain it: regulation 5 of the Workplace Regulations 1992 covers maintenance, and regulation 18 requires upward-opening doors to have a device that stops them falling back and powered doors to have features that prevent trapping.

Keeping your site running during the work

Where a door is being replaced, the opening has to be made secure at the end of each day. We plan strip-out, any new framing and the new door so the gap is never left open overnight unless you have agreed temporary measures.

Sectional overhead doors in Berkhamsted: your questions

Do you survey sites in Berkhamsted before quoting?

Yes. Surveys for new and replacement doors are free. We measure the opening, headroom and obstructions, check the fixings and power supply, and discuss how the door will be used before we price it.

How much is a sectional overhead door in Berkhamsted?

Our guide price for an electric, 40 mm insulated sectional door up to about 4 × 4.5 m is £3,495 to £8,495 ex VAT, supplied and fitted. The fixed price for your opening in Berkhamsted is confirmed in writing after a free survey.

Can you replace a roller shutter with a sectional door at our Berkhamsted unit?
