Options that matter on site

Safety devices. Spring-break and cable-break protection, safety edges, photocells or light curtains, set up to BS EN 12453.
Track layouts. Standard, low headroom, high lift and vertical lift tracks, chosen after measuring your headroom.
Insulated panels. 40 mm PU-insulated steel panels as standard, with thicker thermal panels where heat loss matters.
Vision panels. Glazed rows or full-vision sections bring daylight in and let drivers see the yard.
Wicket doors. A pass door built into the panels saves opening the whole door for pedestrians; low-threshold options reduce trips.

Typical scopes of work

Renewing torsion springs and lift cables on a busy loading bay door, with higher-cycle springs where the usage justifies them.
Converting a manual chain-operated sectional door to electric operation with a shaft-mounted motor, safety edge and photocells.
Fitting a bank of insulated sectional doors to a new distribution unit, with high-lift tracks to clear sprinkler mains and lighting.

Safety law for industrial doors in Scotland

Industrial doors in Wishaw are covered by the same rules as the rest of Great Britain. On handover you should receive user instructions and, for a powered door, the conformity paperwork, because the installer is treated as the manufacturer when they assemble or motorise it. Afterwards, keeping the door in efficient working order is the occupier's job under the Workplace Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998, which in practice means regular servicing and a written log.

Access, phasing and timing

Sites in and around Wishaw vary from tight trade counters to large distribution yards. The survey records access for our vehicle and platform, overhead obstructions and floor condition so the installation day runs without surprises.

Your questions about sectional overhead doors

Can you replace a roller shutter with a sectional door at our Wishaw unit?

Usually, yes, provided there is enough headroom and side room for the tracks. Low-headroom track kits cover many older units. We check this on the survey and include strip-out and making good in the quote.

How much is a sectional overhead door in Wishaw?

Our guide price for an electric, 40 mm insulated sectional door up to about 4 × 4.5 m is £3,495 to £8,495 ex VAT, supplied and fitted. The fixed price for your opening in Wishaw is confirmed in writing after a free survey.

Which safety devices does a powered sectional door in Wishaw need?

That comes from the risk assessment for your site, but typically a safety edge or light curtain, spring-break and cable-break protection and limited closing forces tested to BS EN 12453. Busy pedestrian routes may call for more.
