What to specify

Finishes. RAL colours to match cladding, with stucco or woodgrain embossing on the outer skin.
Vision panels. Add a row of vision panels or full-vision aluminium sections for daylight and a clear view of vehicles outside.
Wicket doors. Integrated pass doors, including low-threshold versions, for staff access without opening the main door.
Safety devices. Spring-break and cable-break protection, safety edges, photocells or light curtains, set up to BS EN 12453.
Paperwork. You get the manufacturer's Declaration of Performance plus commissioning and test records for your files.

Examples of work we can quote for

Renewing torsion springs and lift cables on a busy loading bay door, with higher-cycle springs where the usage justifies them.
Replacing a draughty single-skin roller shutter with an insulated sectional door and a low-threshold wicket door.
Supplying full-vision aluminium sections for a vehicle workshop door so technicians get daylight without opening the door.

Powered door rules that apply in Pudsey

Pudsey is in England, where powered industrial doors fall under Great Britain's health and safety law. Whoever makes a door powered — including converting a manual door — usually takes on the manufacturer's duties under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008: risk assessment, technical file, conformity marking and a Declaration of Conformity. Once it is in use, the employer or occupier must keep it safe under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998.

Keeping your site running during the work

For busy sites in West Yorkshire the work can be split across visits — preparation and framing first, door installation and commissioning second — so the opening is only out of action for the shortest time.

Frequently asked questions

How soon can a sectional door be fitted in Pudsey?

Sectional doors are made to measure, so the manufacturer's lead time sets the date. We confirm it with the quote, book installation around your operations and fit most single doors in a day once the opening is ready.

Do you survey sites in Pudsey before quoting?

Yes. Surveys for new and replacement doors are free. We measure the opening, headroom and obstructions, check the fixings and power supply, and discuss how the door will be used before we price it.

Which safety devices does a powered sectional door in Pudsey need?

That comes from the risk assessment for your site, but typically a safety edge or light curtain, spring-break and cable-break protection and limited closing forces tested to BS EN 12453. Busy pedestrian routes may call for more.
