Options for sliding and folding industrial doors in Sandown

Insulated options. Insulated panel infill and edge seals for heated buildings.
Electric operation. Motor drives with safety edges, photocells and guarding where needed.
Wide spans. Very wide openings are handled by adding leaves, so width is rarely a limit.
Top-hung or bottom-rolling. We hang the door from above or run it on a floor rail depending on what the building can support.
Robust build. Steel-framed leaves with steel, panel or timber cladding.

Examples of work we can quote for

Automating a pair of heavy bi-parting sliding doors with a drive motor, safety edges and photocells.
Supplying insulated sliding leaves with edge seals for a converted building now used as a heated workshop.
Adding a steel support beam and top-hung track so a sliding door leaves the floor flush for forklifts.

Powered door rules that apply in Sandown

Sandown is in England, where powered industrial doors fall under Great Britain's health and safety law. Whoever makes a door powered — including converting a manual door — usually takes on the manufacturer's duties under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008: risk assessment, technical file, conformity marking and a Declaration of Conformity. Once it is in use, the employer or occupier must keep it safe under the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 and PUWER 1998.

Planning the work around your site

For busy sites in the Isle of Wight the work can be split across visits — preparation and framing first, door installation and commissioning second — so the opening is only out of action for the shortest time.

Your questions about sliding and folding industrial doors

How much do sliding or folding industrial doors cost in Sandown?

Our guide price is £5,995 to £24,995 ex VAT, supplied and fitted, depending on size, number of leaves, infill and whether the doors are manual or electric. After a free survey in Sandown we confirm the fixed price in writing.

Can our existing sliding doors in Sandown be motorised?

Often, if the leaves and track are in good condition. We assess the doors, fit a drive and the safety devices needed, and take on the conformity responsibilities that come with converting a manual door to power.

Which is better for our Sandown site, top-hung or bottom-rolling?

Top-hung keeps the floor flush but needs a strong structure overhead. Bottom-rolling suits lighter buildings but needs a clean, protected floor rail. We recommend one after checking both on survey.
