What we fit in Selby

Panic hardware. Where visitors or the public might need to escape, we fit full-width panic bars to BS EN 1125.
Louvres and vision. Louvred leaves for plant rooms and vision panels where visibility helps.
Fire-rated doorsets. Where a door must hold back fire, we supply tested fire-rated doorsets and fit them exactly as specified.
Emergency devices. Lever or push-pad devices to BS EN 179 for exits used by trained staff.
Security options. From hinge bolts to certified security doorsets, the door can be specified to resist attack.

Jobs we can carry out

Fitting hinge bolts and a multi-point lock to a steel back door to resist levering and forced entry.
Replacing a rotted timber fire exit door with a galvanised steel doorset and a BS EN 1125 panic bar.
Installing a leaf-and-a-half steel doorset so equipment can pass through a plant room door when needed.

Which workplace rules apply to these doors?

For premises in Selby, the Workplace Regulations 1992 set the basics: doors suitably constructed, swing doors giving a clear view through when closed, and maintenance under regulation 5. Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, an emergency exit door must open easily in the direction of travel and must not be locked or fastened so it cannot be opened immediately in an emergency.

Access, phasing and timing

Where a door is being replaced, the opening has to be made secure at the end of each day. We plan strip-out, any new framing and the new door so the gap is never left open overnight unless you have agreed temporary measures.
