What to specify

Galvanised steel. Double-skin galvanised steel leaves with powder-coated finishes.
Fire-rated doorsets. Where a door must hold back fire, we supply tested fire-rated doorsets and fit them exactly as specified.
Complete doorsets. Everything comes together as a matched doorset, so it fits and works as designed.
Louvres and vision. Ventilation louvres for plant and switch rooms, and glazed panels where people need to see through.
Emergency devices. Staff-only exits used by people who know the door can take BS EN 179 lever or pad hardware.

Examples of work we can quote for

Fitting a louvred double steel door to a plant room or electrical switch room to keep it ventilated and secure.
Fitting hinge bolts and a multi-point lock to a steel back door to resist levering and forced entry.
Installing a steel staff entrance door with an overhead closer and keypad access beside a loading bay.

Which workplace rules apply to these doors?

For premises in Dudley, the Workplace Regulations 1992 set the basics: doors suitably constructed, swing doors giving a clear view through when closed, and maintenance under regulation 5. Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, an emergency exit door must open easily in the direction of travel and must not be locked or fastened so it cannot be opened immediately in an emergency.

Keeping your site running during the work

Most installations in Dudley can be phased so part of the site keeps working. We agree access routes, exclusion zones and any temporary security with you before the team arrives, and can work early mornings, evenings or weekends where the business needs it.
