What to specify
- Specialist grades. Tinted strips for insect control or welding bays, and anti-static grades where needed.
- Sliding rails. Sliding or swing-away rails move the curtain clear for oversized loads.
- No power. With no electrics involved, the curtain keeps working with only cleaning and strip renewal.
- Traffic passes freely. People, trolleys and forklifts push straight through the overlapping strips.
- Draught control. Strips cut the loss of heated or chilled air through busy openings.
What this work can involve
- Supplying polar-grade strips for a freezer doorway where standard PVC stiffens and cracks in the cold.
- Hanging a polar-grade strip curtain behind a cold store door to reduce the cold air lost during loading.
- Fitting anti-insect strips to the rear door of a bakery or food unit to deter flying insects.
Keeping strip curtains safe in England
The business running the site in Newton-le-Willows must keep traffic routes safe and equipment maintained under the Workplace Regulations 1992. For strip curtains that means clear, undamaged strips that let drivers and pedestrians see each other, and a separate pedestrian route where traffic is heavy.
Planning the work around your site
If your premises are leased, check whether the landlord needs to approve the work. We can provide drawings and product data for the landlord or managing agent before the order is placed.

PVC strip curtains in Newton-le-Willows: your questions
Is a strip curtain or a high-speed door better for our Newton-le-Willows site?
A strip curtain costs far less and suits most openings. A high-speed door seals better, keeps a clear view and suits very busy or temperature-critical openings. We price both where either could work.
Do strip curtains work in cold stores around Merseyside?
Yes, with polar-grade PVC that stays flexible at low temperatures. We fit strip curtains inside cold store and freezer doors across Merseyside to cut the cold air lost while doors are open.
How often should strip curtains in Newton-le-Willows be replaced?
It depends on traffic. Pedestrian doorways can go years between changes; busy forklift routes need new strips sooner. Replace any strip that is torn, cloudy or badly scratched so visibility stays good.
