What we fit in Bicester
- Specialist grades. Anti-insect, anti-static and weld-screen strips for specific areas.
- No power. No motors, sensors or controls, so almost nothing to go wrong.
- Draught control. Strips cut the loss of heated or chilled air through busy openings.
- Polar grade. Low-temperature PVC that stays flexible in chillers and freezers.
- Sliding rails. Where big loads come through, the curtain can slide or swing out of the way.
What this work can involve
- Hanging a polar-grade strip curtain behind a cold store door to reduce the cold air lost during loading.
- Fitting anti-insect strips to the rear door of a bakery or food unit to deter flying insects.
- Fitting ribbed PVC strip curtains inside loading bay doors so the doors can stay open between deliveries.
Traffic route rules that apply in Bicester
Strip curtains sit on workplace traffic routes, so in England the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 apply: traffic routes must be organised so pedestrians and vehicles can move safely (regulation 17) and kept in good repair (regulation 5). That is why clear strips, good visibility and prompt replacement of scratched or missing strips matter.
Planning the work around your site
Sites in and around Bicester vary from tight trade counters to large distribution yards. The survey records access for our vehicle and platform, overhead obstructions and floor condition so the installation day runs without surprises.

Questions from businesses in Bicester
Is a strip curtain or a high-speed door better for our Bicester site?
A strip curtain costs far less and suits most openings. A high-speed door seals better, keeps a clear view and suits very busy or temperature-critical openings. We price both where either could work.
Do strip curtains work in cold stores around Oxfordshire?
Yes, with polar-grade PVC that stays flexible at low temperatures. We fit strip curtains inside cold store and freezer doors across Oxfordshire to cut the cold air lost while doors are open.
How often should strip curtains in Bicester be replaced?
It depends on traffic. Pedestrian doorways can go years between changes; busy forklift routes need new strips sooner. Replace any strip that is torn, cloudy or badly scratched so visibility stays good.
