Industrial door work in Hastings
Our teams cover Hastings (TN34) and nearby Bexhill-on-Sea, Hailsham, Eastbourne, along with the rest of East Sussex.
For busy sites in East Sussex the work can be split across visits — preparation and framing first, door installation and commissioning second — so the opening is only out of action for the shortest time.
What the law expects at a loading bay
Across Great Britain, including Hastings, loading bays bring together several duties: maintained work equipment under PUWER 1998, safe traffic routes under the Workplace Regulations 1992, and safe powered doors under the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008. Dock levellers should meet BS EN 1398, and the site's risk assessment should cover vehicle creep and drive-aways.
Fire shutter law in England
A fire shutter only does its job if it closes when needed. Under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005, the responsible person must keep fire safety equipment maintained in efficient working order, and keeping test records is the usual way to show it. Shutters must also stay as the manufacturer tested and certified them, so repairs should use the right parts. In Hastings, the enforcing authority is the local fire and rescue authority.
Questions from businesses in Hastings
Who will we contract with for work in Hastings?
Your contract is with S&K Property Investments and Improvement Ltd, which trades as Industrial Door Installers. The written quote sets out the scope, price and payment terms.
Do you repair doors you didn't install at Hastings sites?
Yes. We repair and service most makes of industrial door and dock leveller, subject to parts availability, and record each door's details on the first visit.
How quickly can you quote for a site in Hastings?
We aim to book a survey at a time that suits your site and send a written fixed price after it. Simple like-for-like jobs can sometimes be priced from clear photos and measurements first.
Do prices in East Sussex differ from the guide prices?
Guide prices apply to mainland UK sites. For islands and remote sites, travel and access costs are added and shown in your quote. Your fixed price depends on the door, size, access and working hours, and is confirmed in writing after the survey.
