What we fit in Hastings

Disposal. We take the old door away so there is nothing left on site to deal with.
Right door type. Like-for-like or an upgrade to suit how the opening is used now.
Safe strip-out. Springs unwound and the old door dismantled safely.
Minimal downtime. The new door is ready before the old one comes out, keeping downtime short.
Commissioning. Safety devices tested, forces measured and instructions handed over.

What this work can involve

Replacing a corroded single-skin roller shutter on a trade unit with an insulated roller door and electric operation.
Phasing the replacement of several loading doors so only one bay is out of use at a time.
Stripping out a sectional door with broken springs and an obsolete motor, and fitting a new door with an inverter drive.

Who is responsible for door safety at a site in Hastings?

In England, two sets of duties meet at a powered door. The installer who supplies or motorises it must hand over a door that meets the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008, tested against BS EN 12453 and documented. The business in control of the premises must then maintain it: regulation 5 of the Workplace Regulations 1992 covers maintenance, and regulation 18 requires upward-opening doors to have a device that stops them falling back and powered doors to have features that prevent trapping.

Keeping your site running during the work

Most installations in Hastings can be phased so part of the site keeps working. We agree access routes, exclusion zones and any temporary security with you before the team arrives, and can work early mornings, evenings or weekends where the business needs it.
